How to Research Candidates
It can be hard to research candidates and know who to vote for! Below are some tips that might make it easier:
- Look up your sample ballot using the voter lookup tool. You'll see all the candidates that will be on your ballot. Google their names to see if you can find their websites and social media pages.
- Ballotpedia is a good resource for researching candidates, though they don't always have everyone
- Local newspapers and publications often have voters' guides that give information about local candidates.. For example, in the Triad NC area, Triad City Beat usually has one for every election
- Common Cause NC publishes a statewide voters guide
Voter Lookup Tool
Use the NC State Board of Elections voter lookup tool to find your registration information, which includes a sample ballot. Take a look at your sample ballot to see what your ballot will look like on election day!
