What is an Annotated Bibliography?

An Annotated Bibliography is a list of books, articles and other materials on a particular topic. What makes it different from a bibliography is that each entry is accompanied by a brief synopsis on the importance of the entry in regards to the subject being researched. The best source for learning how to develop an Annotated Bibliography can be found here at Purdue OWL.
