Student Worker Guide

Paycom

Students will record their hours using Paycom.  This app can be accessed online through a web browser at this link, or it can be downloaded as a mobile app to the student’s phone (click here to download it via the Apple store, and click here to download it via Google Play).

How do I set up my account?

Before beginning your work study shift, it is essential to have completed Paycom training, during which you will receive your Paycom username and password. Until this training is completed, you will not be able to begin your work study shifts. Should you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Student Financial Services Coordinator Joan Springett-Coscia.

Who do I contact if I forget my Paycom username/password?

If a student forgets their Paycom username or password, they can recover this information by using the reset links provided on the Paycom website. A work-study student can regain access to their username by clicking  this link, and their password by clicking this link.

If you experience further issues, please promptly email Stephanie Stark, the Director of Human Resources, at stephanie.stark@greensboro.edu, requesting assistance in resetting their username and/or password. It is important for the student to inform their supervisor that they have taken measures so that they can offer support if necessary.

What if I forget to clock-in or out of the app?

If a student forgets to clock in or out for their shift, they should submit a punch change request. Afterward, please email your supervisor so they can review and approve any time changes. Instructions on how to submit a punch change request can be here. found If you require additional assistance, please reach out to the supervisor.

How do I approve my Timecard and how often should I approve it?

You can find instructions on approving timecard here.

It is suggested that students review their timecards after each shift, it's important that they approve their timecard by the last day of the month for supervisor approval. The supervisor must approve a student's timecard by the 3rd of the following month. Therefore, students must ensure their timecards are approved by this deadline.

Failure to approve your timecard on time may result in a delay in payment until the following pay period.

How am I paid for my work study shifts?

During the onboarding process for work study students, Human Resources manages the collection of tax and bank information to setup a direct deposit. Work study students receive monthly payments via direct deposit. The pay schedule varies for each semester, and you can receive this current semester's pay schedule by contacting Stephanie Stark.
